Social media is one of the worst things when it comes to my self-esteem and healthy view of myself and the world.

I have tools set in place such as: no social media apps, only accessing via my laptop, have 30mins a day to spend on it (I go over this, sadly, on most days, realistically it's more like 45mins50 mins a day), avoid using it on the weekends and am meticulous about who I follow.

As I'm writing this (thanks for this discussion!) I also realised I tend to 'check' social media when I feel down (to get my dopamine hit I suppose) but I end up feeling much, MUCH worse. So another rule in place from now on is to avoid it if I'm sad/upset/stressed etc.

In terms of not getting any traction... you either have to pay the platform loads of money for them to show people your stuff (thinking of Meta mostly) or continuously provide entertainment for the brain stem (nudity, profanity or something v black&white) - of course, there are exceptions to this but hopefully you get my drift :)
