This is a great line!

One thing is to travel or live abroad for a bit to immerse yourself in the culture (good thing imo) and a whole other thing is living in a cheap place, essentially destroying it (looking at Bali), hanging out with other digital nomads mostly. Bali is just glorified LA at this point.

As a former dig nomad of 5 years, I agree with the points you made.

I got increasingly frustrated with what I called The Peter Pan syndrome or immaturity/inability to grow up psychologically of both myself and the people around me. This, of course, didn't apply to everyone, but in my experience, it did to A LOT of people I met. Relationships were the biggest struggle and so were forging friendships because to your point - people leave. So you end up investing a lot of time and energy with no ROI
